The first stirrings of Mimosa herbals were felt in the early 1980’s from a genuine love of plants, their properties and also their beauty. Our interest in botanicals had its beginnings in culinary herbs and companion planting. In the years that followed this grew into a thirst for knowledge that has resulted in many tertiary level qualifications including Diplomas in Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Naturopathy and much more which has enabled our practitioners to have a very deep understanding of what the body needs for optimum health. A natural progression from here was an interest in organic production and biodynamic principles.

As we researched the skin care and herbal product arena we found that there was a gap in the area of Organic Skin care. We wanted to be able to provide a range of products that was not only organic but also had its roots in naturopathic principles, meaning that we wanted to treat the whole body including the senses.

That’s why we grow many of our plants and herbs and source the remainder of our raw materials where possible from organic sources to ensure the highest quantity and quality of active ingredients in our formulations. We also feel it is essential to capture the vibrance or life force of the plants enabling you to access these gifts from nature directly without losing any of their potency, which means you can enjoy more radiant and healthy looking skin.

At this stage to help us achieve our objectives at the level required, a country property was purchased which had been carrying the Certified Organic status with NASAA for many years ensuring no chemical residues would be present in any of our herbs. NASAA is considered a most professional and efficient organic certifier in Australia, presiding over 7 million hectares and 7000 operators in the Asia Pacific region, and its accreditations facilitate access to organic products worldwide. The international market for organic products is growing rapidly at a rate of 40% per year. NASAA’s certification covers a wide range of products including essential oils and raw materials needed for the manufacture of skin care and personal care products.

Customers are assured that products that are classified organic are of the highest quality, purity and vitality. Many of our products are farmed under sustainable and environmentally protective methods which is part of the ethos of the organic producer. Adopting these methods leads to higher vitality or lifeforce of plants, higher bioactivity of the soil, pollution reduction and erosion control.
